Kistler Models 8702B & 8704B K-Shear® Accelerometer Series
The 8702B side connector and 8704B top connector accelerometer series use a unique shear mode sensing element made of stable quartz crystals. All units are hermetically sealed and are constructed of titanium. An internal circuit Piezotron® impedance converter provides a low impedance output. The quartz crystal sensing elements afford excellent long-term stability that ensure repeatable, accurate measurements for many years.

Kistler Model 8704B5000 K-Shear® Accelerometer
The 8704B5000 accelerometer accurately measures mechanical shock up to 5,000 g. The unique K-SHEAR sensing system is insensitive to base strain, transverse accelerationand thermal transients. Quartz sensing crystals ensure the long-term stability not achievable with other sensing materials. The sensor is constructed in a hermetically sealed, welded, titanium case.

Kistler Model 8710A Continuous Dity K-Shear® Accelerometers
The 8710A50 family of low impedance, voltage mode accelerometers are designed for continuous operation in a wide variation of temperature environments. The standard M1 version spans an operating temperature range of -54 to 120°C while the M5 high temperature version and the M8 low temperature version operate over a range of -54 to 165°C and -195 to 120°C respectively.

Kistler Model 8712A5M1 K-Shear® High Sensitivity Accelerometer
The 8712A5M1 is an extremely sensitive accelerometer with 1000 mV/g sensitivity. It features a rugged all welded, hermetic construction with an electrical ground isolation. The low impedance voltage output minimizes noise pick-up and eliminates the need for highly insulated low noise cables. The electrically isolated base prevents potential ground loop problems.

Kistler Model 8720A500 K-Shear® Accelerometer
The light weight, low profile 8720A500 uses the K-shear quartz sensing element. Operation in the shear mode reduces sensitivity to thermal transients, base strain and transverse motion. Long-term stability and accuracy is achieved by use of a quartz crystal sensing element. The internal circuit Piezotron® built-in impedance converter provides a low impedance output which eliminates the need for expensive low noise cable and chrage amplifier.

Kistler Model 8728A Miniature K-Shear® Accelerometers
The 8728A500 is a miniature, lightweight accelerometer weighing only 1.6 grams. The sensor is constructed in an environmentally sealed, welded, titanium case. A Teflon integral cable is attached to solder terminals which are potted to permit cable repair. The unit is designed for mounting with an adhesive or mounting wax. Kistler's K-Shear technology assures insensitivity to base strain, thermal transients and transverse (cross-axis) acceleration.

Kistler Model 8730A Miniature K-Shear® Accelerometers
The 8730A500 Series are miniature, lightweight accelerometers weighing only 1.9 grams. Only the M1 version, which is slightly larger and "off-ground"; weights 2.5 grams. These sensors are constructed in a welded, hermetically sealed titanium case. The units are designed with a 10-32 top connector for convenience and reliability. The basic 8730A500 and its M1 and M8 versions contain integral 5-40 threaded mounting stud. For low temperature or cryogenic applications down to -320°F (-195°C), the 8730A500M8 and 8730AE500M8 are available.
